Minor Ailments

As of January 1, 2023, Ontario pharmacists are authorized to prescribe medications for 13 minor ailments:
• Hay fever (allergic rhinitis)
• Oral thrush (candidal stomatitis)
• Pink eye (conjunctivitis; bacterial, allergic and viral)
• Dermatitis (atopic, eczema, allergic and contact)
• Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)
• Acid reflux (gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD))
• Hemorrhoids
• Cold sores (herpes labialis)
• Impetigo
• Insect bites and hives
• Tick bites (post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent Lyme disease
• sprains and strains (musculoskeletal)
• Urinary tract infections (uncomplicated)

Medication Reviews

Do you take 3 or more medications? If so, book a medication review with one of our pharmacists. They will review your entire prescription profile with you, including any over-the-counter products, vitamins, supplements, and herbal remedies that you take.
Our pharmacists can advise on the best time to take your meds, flag any potential side effects and drug interactions, and answer any other questions you may have.
